San Luis Trust Bank Helps the Fight Against Heart Disease

Local bank provides support for 18th annual Heart Walk

The American Heart Association is $4,446 closer to their 2008 fundraising goals thanks to San Luis Trust Bank. The bank has donated a significant amount of time and money in support of AHA programs over the years and this marks the tenth consecutive year the bank has raised money for the American Heart Association’s annual Heart Walk. San Luis Trust Bank was also the winner of the AHA Bank Day Challenge, an honor bestowed upon the local bank that raised the most money by September 19. The 18th annual Start! Heart Walk in San Luis Obispo took place at Cuesta College on October 4. The Walk attracted nearly 550 registered participants and raised over $150,000, making it the largest Heart Walk in the history of San Luis Obispo, in both participation and dollars raised.
The Start! Program is a national year-long campaign that encourages Americans and their employers to promote physical activity and health to live longer and heart-healthier lives through walking. The Walk benefits the American Heart Association and its mission to fight heart disease and stroke.
